About UPRS
Founded in 1985 by Ugandan authors, primarily musicians, the Uganda Performing Right Society (UPRS) was established to advance copyright administration in Uganda. It is registered with the Registrar of Companies as a Company Limited by Guarantee, meaning it has no share capital and belongs collectively to all its members. Recognized by the Government of Uganda as a Collecting Society, UPRS is also a member of the Confederation of International Societies of Authors and Composers (CISAC).
